Russian Kinofest to show Iran’s ‘Irreversible’

The Kinofest in Russia is to host Iran’s ‘Irreversible’.

The International Youth Film Festival “Light to the World” (Kinofest) in Russia has been slated to play host to Iranian short film ‘Irreversible’.

The Iranian animation will be among the four titles to be screened at the Foreign Animation section of the Russian film event’s 10th run.

‘Irreversible’ is an 8-minute 2D animation, which took around two years to be produced.

A brief synopsis for the flick reads, “a country has been invaded and occupied by the forces of another country. There only remains one survivor, who, has been trying hard to redefine the alienated meaning of their life”.

The film’s director told the media that her choice of subject for the film has roots in the great impact nostalgia has on people’s lives. She is after explaining the path different individuals will take after their homeland has been colonized and the deep-rooted meaning of their life has been lost.

Previously, the film has taken part in the Athens Animfest in Greece.

According to the official website of the event, the Kinofest aims “to promote spiritual, moral, patriotic, artistic and aesthetic education of modern youth”.

This year’s edition of the fest is set to be held on May 27-30.
